Out with the Old Thinkpad

I recently got a 17 inch notebook, and am quite impressed with its quality. It is so much better than the old IBM Thinkpad that I had years ago.

Back then, laptop computers were big and bulky, the screen resolution was poor, they were even more expensive than now, and the batteries had very low life expectancy.

But my new Dell 17 inch notebook is everything that my old laptop was not.

Small is Beautiful - with Laptops

I remember back when I had my first PC. It was a Compaq desktop with an enormous monitor.

Sure it got the task at-hand accomplished, it provided my first dose of cyberspace, and even helped me write a few papers, but man am I glad it’s gone.

These days many of us have done away with the two ton monitors and giant towers. We simply want smaller.
